AirPods Pro 3 vs Tagry X08: Premium or Budget?

Recently I decided to compare the premium wireless earbuds Apple AirPods Pro 3 with a much cheaper alternative — Tagry X08, which are popular on Amazon. The price difference is huge, so it was interesting to see what each option actually offers.

Design and Comfort

  • AirPods Pro 3: Apple redesigned the body and slightly adjusted the ear tip geometry, which makes the earbuds sit more securely. The package includes five foam tip sizes, including XXS, so finding the right fit is easy. The IP57 rating means you can safely use them in rain or during workouts.
  • Tagry X08: Each earbud weighs around 3.9 g and comes with three silicone ear tips. The charging case includes an LED battery display and looks stylish, although the plastic scratches easily. With an IPX5 rating, they are suitable for workouts and light rain.

Sound and Noise Cancellation

  • AirPods Pro 3: A new acoustic architecture and adaptive EQ deliver powerful and detailed sound. Active noise cancellation is now about twice as effective as the previous generation, and the transparency mode lets outside sounds in when needed.
  • Tagry X08: The 13 mm drivers provide strong bass and clear mid-range sound. However, there is no active noise cancellation — you only get passive noise isolation from the ear tips.

Features and Battery Life

  • AirPods Pro 3: These earbuds can measure your heart rate during workouts, support Live Translation for conversations in different languages, and last up to 8 hours with ANC enabled (up to 24 hours with the case). They support USB-C, MagSafe, Qi wireless charging, and even Apple Watch charging.
  • Tagry X08: The main advantage here is battery life: about 6 hours per charge plus four additional full charges from the case (up to 60 hours total). The case supports USB-C and wireless charging, and the display shows the battery percentage. In terms of extra features, you mainly get Bluetooth 5.3 and touch controls.

Price and Final Thoughts

AirPods Pro 3 cost around $249, but for that price you get industry-leading noise cancellation, deep integration with the Apple ecosystem, heart-rate tracking, and even real-time translation. Tagry X08 cost roughly $36; they don’t have advanced features, but they offer excellent battery life and a stylish design. If you’re willing to pay for premium sound and features, AirPods Pro 3 are the obvious choice. If you just need reliable, affordable earbuds for workouts and daily use, Tagry X08 are a surprisingly solid option.
